At South Africa’s only inland crude oil refinery, located in Sasolburg, Aurex Constructors has played a recurring and strategic role in executing complex Turnaround operations in a multi-year agreement. The projects are critical to ensuring the long-term reliability, safety, and efficiency of the Natref Refinery—an essential component of the country’s fuel supply chain.
Aurex was entrusted with managing extensive shutdown operations across multiple high-pressure refinery units. With a peak workforce of 1,500 personnel, our teams delivered hot and cold mechanical work on the Hydrocracker, Crude Distillation, HF Alkylation, Diesel Unifier, and Platformer units.
The scope required meticulous planning, strict adherence to safety protocols, and seamless coordination across disciplines to ensure operational readiness and compliance with industry standards.
